Windows Update error after first update

My windows update stopped working with error code i couldn't see any anwers to. Also my messenger no longer works with my video camera.

I re-installed windows 7 32bit, thinking this would rectify this, but alas after the first downloading and installing of updates then the office updates I now get error.

    "Error(s) found:
Code 8007273D Windows Update encountered an unknown error."

So it last checked and installed updated last Tuesday 6/4/10 when I Re-installed windows.

Live messenger wont use my webcam says errors too (tried to d'load it again but got similar error to this one, which is why I am including it - I did a system restore to get messenger back).

This is the third time I have tried Mr Fix It..hehe

It stops at "Service'Windows Update'(WUAUSERV) could not be stopped.

I also can't stop it directly from Services (admin module). Don't think my husbands is working either.

P.S. It all worked in XP...will log into my computer with XP partition tomorrow to check it is still working in XP. We have a modem/router if that makes any difference, which it has never done before and clearly didn't when I first installed and got 32 updates.

Very annoying.....especially if I have to install for a 3rd time and get the same problem.

Still the same problem....didn't fix it.

Something else that happened when all this did was that I couldn't use my webcam with messenger live. I deleted it and tried to get it again and gave me the same message.

Yet I can happily use Skype and i did install one windows update from the file download itself.

This is something I haven't encountered....just going to log into XP and see if all is working fine there.

Try suggestions from this thread Windows Update Error Code 8007273D: Cannot Find Solution

If it don't help then find WindowsUpdate.log in C:\Windows folder and attache to post.
