    KB980182 causes problems accessing IE

    Hi,

have read on this forum (and googled lots of other entries on other forums) re: problems caused by KB980182 cumulative security update for IE 8.

Obviously i'd like to get the security benefits by installing KB980182 but at this moment in time I am unable to do so because its crippling my internet access which is having a knock-on effect to my ability to work from home.

Having done more system restores over the last few weeks than i've had to do in my life and wasted hours on trouble-shooting and restoring - has anyone found a work-around to this problem?

Am starting to think I should be billing Microsoft for testing their software defects.

And people wonder why I never use automatic updates...

I wish I could help more... but my only suggestion is try and uninstall it from the Programs and Features dialog...
