Bluetooth devices unrecognized after a computer resumes from sleep or hibernate state in Windows 8.1 or Windows 7.

Symptoms:

Consider the following scenario:

You have a Windows 8.1-based or Windows 7-based computer that uses AMD Beema.
You connect multiple Bluetooth devices to the computer, and they are connected to the same universal serial bus (USB) hub.
You put the computer in to sleep or hibernate state, and then resume the computer.

In this scenario, some Bluetooth devices cannot be recognized and therefore cannot be used.

Cause:
This issue occurs because of a bug in the USB hub low level driver.

Summary:
This hotfix adds the CRYPTUI_SELECTCERT_PUT_WINDOW_TOPMOST dwFlag parameter to Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1) and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1. This parameter can be used with the CRYPTUI_SELECTCERTIFICATE_STRUCT structure, and it makes sure that the cryptography interface is the top window on the screen. In other words, the cryptography interface (which prompts the user for a certificate) will never be hidden under other windows.

Ls command takes a long time to list shared files in 2 windows on a Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2-based NFS server.

Symptoms:
Consider the following scenario:

You have a computer that is running Windows 7 Service pack 1 (SP1) or Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1.
You configure the computer as a Network File System (NFS) Server. Then you create and share files on the NFS server.
You use a mount command on a NFS client to connect to the NFS Server.
You open more than one terminal window on the NFS client.
Then you execute the following ls command in each terminal window at the same time to list all shared files:
cd <NFS share>
ls –lR

In this scenario, it takes a long time to list all the shared files from the NFS server.

Cause:
This issue occurs when the NFS client sends a GETATTR call two times in a row. The NFS Server has to wait for the ACK packet from the NFS client for the first GETATTR reply packet before it can send the queued second GETATTR reply packet.

Note In most cases, it takes about 0.04 sec to send the second GETATTR reply packet because of delayed ACKs from the NFS client. Therefore, it takes more than two hours when you execute an ls command to list all files for the attribute information when the total number of files is more than 400,000.
(400,000 * 0.04 sec / 2 Nfs3GetAttr() calls / 3600 sec = 2.22 hours)

You can confirm how long it takes to send the GETATRR Reply to the NFS client by monitoring network packets.

Text is blurry when you magnify the text in Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2.

Symptoms:
Consider the following scenario:

You log on to a computer locally or by using Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) in Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1) or Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1.
You use a window magnification tool to magnify part of the screen at a high zoom rate (such as over 900%).

In this scenario, the text becomes blurry.

Cause:
This issue occurs because the following setting can affect the text rendering:

Magnification APIs that are used by the magnifier uses GDI+ InterpolationModeHighQualityBilinear interpolation mode for rendering.

Note After you apply this hotfix, magnification APIs uses the default GDI+ Interpolation mode.
Windows 7 introduces some changes in ClearType and grayscale technologies. When these modifications try to improve the font rendering and reading experience, text appears blurry when you use a high screen magnification zoom. To work around this issue, disable the following settings:

- Disable the Turn On ClearType option by clicking the Adjust ClearType text link in the Appearance and Personalization window in Control Panel.
- Disable the following options:
  - Disable all the options under the Visual Effects tab in the Performance Settings window under the Advanced tab in the System Properties window for the System setting in Control Panel.
  - When you use a Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) connection, disable all performance options under the Experience tab.
  - Disable the ClearType usage in some applications. For example, disable the Always use ClearType for HTML option under the Adavanced tab in Internet Options in Microsoft Internet Explorer 8.

After you restart the computer, you cannot access network shares on another computer.

Cause:
This issue occurs because a race condition occurs. Therefore, the WFP driver disrupts the network share access as the computer restarts.

In this scenario, you cannot save the file, and you receive one of the following error messages:

This article describes a hotfix that adds support for Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0 in Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1) and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1. This update replaces the earlier version of TPM in Windows 7, and it slightly changes the BitLocker Drive Encryption and the Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) to interact with the TPM 2.0.

You configure a Folder Redirection policy by using Group Policy Object (GPO).
You encrypt the offline files cache by using Encrypted File Systems (EFS) encryption in GPO.
You enable protected mode in Internet Explorer. In this situation, Internet Explorer runs at a low integrity level.
You try to visit a website.

In this scenario, Internet Explorer freezes for several minutes, and the webpage loads eventually.

Note You can see an "Access Denied" error message in the following examples if you run the Process Monitor tool during the page loading.

Workaround:
To work around this issue, add the problematic sites to the trusted sites in Internet Explorer.

Multipath I/O identifies different disks as the same disk in Windows.

Symptoms:
The code in Microsoft Windows that converts a hexadecimal device ID to an ASCII string may drop the most significant nibble in each byte if the byte is less than 0x10. (The most significant nibble is 0.) This causes different disks to be identified as the same disk by Multipath I/O (MPIO). At the very least, this may cause problems in mounting affected disks. And architecturally, this could cause data corruption.

Performance issues when you use credential roaming on RD Session Host servers in Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2.

Symptoms:

Consider the following scenario:

You set up credential roaming for a user who uses a shared Remote Desktop Session Host (RD Session Host) server that is running Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 (SP1).
The user logs on to a computer that is running Windows 7 SP1 or Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 to establish a Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) connection to the RD Session Host server.

In this scenario, the RDP connection may be slow. If you do not recognize this issue in time, other new RDP connections to the server freeze indefinitely. Eventually, the server freezes, and it must be restarted to recover from this frozen status.

Note The number of users that is required to cause this issue varies. The number is determined by the number and the size of the certificates that credential roaming is synchronizing

Symptoms:
USB devices that expose COM ports for communicating between their application and the device use the inbox Usbser.sys to create virtual COM ports. If such a device is removed and then reinserted quickly, it may not be rediscovered correctly, and the COM port, such as COM3, may not be re-created. Additionally, you may receive an error message that resembles the following:

Device does not exist.

Cause:
This problem occurs because of a race condition in the Usbser.sys driver during surprise removal and rediscovery of the same device. This causes the corresponding COM port not to be re-created.

You cannot dock MicroStation toolbars after you install update 2973201 in Windows.

Symptoms:
Consider the following scenario:

You have a computer that is running Windows RT 8.1, Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows 7, or Windows Server 2008 R2.
You install update 2973201 on the computer.
You try to dock a toolbar of Bentley MicroStation at the top or bottom of the screen.
In this scenario, the toolbar becomes blank or invisible.

Cause:
This issue occurs because the Z-order of the windows is changed after you install update 2973201.

"0x0000007E" Stop error when you restart a computer that is running Windows Server 2008 R2 or Windows 7.

Symptoms:

Consider the following scenario:

You have a computer that is running Windows Server 2008 R2 or Windows 7.
The IPv6 transition technologies are enabled on the computer. For example, you enable the Intra-site Automatic Tunnel Addressing Protocol (ISATAP), 6to4, and Teredo IPv6 transition technologies on the computer.
You restart the computer.

In this scenario, you receive the following Stop error message during the startup process:

0x0000007E (parameter1, parameter2, parameter3, parameter4) 
SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED

Notes

The parameters in this error message vary, depending on the configuration of the computer.
Not all "0x0000007E" Stop errors are caused by this issue.

Cause:
This issue occurs because the Tunnel.sys driver does not check whether all queued work items are completed before it frees them during the module unloading process.
