    Windows 7 non-genuine

PLEASE HELP! About one week ago my computer got an update and when i restarted my pc to finish the update i signed on to a watermark in the corner of my desktop, a lot of pop ups about non genuine windows, and a black desktop.

i can't activate windows 7 though because when i bought my laptop from best-buy they didn't provide me with any product key and windows 7 was already installed on my acer aspire! i really don't wanna pay $105 to get a new windows 7 disk so i can go and reinstall windows! is there anything i can do????

    plz help

Your key number should be on a sticker on the bottom of your laptop. See if that sticker is there.

    Download the MS diagnostics tool.

Run the tool, then click on the "Copy" button at the bottom, paste to notepad and upload the file with your next post.

When you get your key number, write on paper and scotch tape it to the bottom of your laptop.

You are using a KNOWN Product Key that is posted all over the internet. Your copy of Windows 7 is illegal. I would take your laptop back to Best Buy and demand to talk to a manager.

Take it to Best Buy tell them what happened. One of their techs may be up to no good.

    OR

If you know yours is illegal due to other reasons you can purchase from Microsoft as the option will be given to you when you try to activate.
