IF my windows seven key -out of the blue- gets invalid, then i wouldnt bother to get a new. i have already bought one copy, so why go buy a second one? i'd just use a crack for my windows (i know its illegal, but i have already payed?!)
A genuine win7 key will not become invalid out of the blue. This problem occurred when WAT was released and it flagged some genuine systems non-genuine. But generally speaking, it wont. In the rare case it does, contact MS and they'll sort it out.

Be extremely careful about talking about cracking Windows, YOU will get BANNED doing so.

Actually, it happens quite often. I've had it happen to all of my retail 7 keys at one time or another. It's simple to fix - you can download a tool from MS that goes through your system and repairs whatever was screwed up.

Here is the simple way I do it. I buy a OEM windows 7 from a my Intel premier dealer. I have them load it and check it for a few more dollars. If there is a problem down the road they will take care of it. They have been in the computer business sense pc have come out. They will not risk there Intel premier status or there Microsoft MVP over a few bucks made selling less than the best and legal anything. Microsoft will be checking for illegal copies for ever and sooner of later they will find them as well they should. Buy legal copies of what ever programs you want to use and have a happy computer.

I have a question regarding the online activation of Windows 7...

For my past two clean installs of my OEM liscence of 7, I had to use the activate by phone method. My key is legitimate, it just fails to activate.

The second time I activated by phone, I wrote the 9 section code down again and the code was identical to first code provided the previous installation.

Is this something I can clear up with the Microsoft help desk? I'm not trying push my luck with my next install.

Hopefully this is something they are able to clear up.

I doubt MS will tell you "You can use that code again and again, no need to call us". Thats because the phone activation system has been designed to thwart casual piracy and the operator is supposed to satisfy himself about the genuineness of your ownership.

The best way to avoid this repeated headache is to optimize your machine to your satisfaction, then image using something like Macrium Reflect. You can then just restore the image everytime without having to bother with re-activation.

Here is a little adage to all you EBay Key buyers

"If it sounds to good to be true it probably is"

Apart from that the probability that you are using a Pirated version of Windows 7 to install can also lead to loads of problems, you never know what else you are getting in the version, some nice spyware, key logger, or viruses.

But a proper copy from a store can't go wrong then and you will also get support from us if you have problems.
