quick windows xp pro question? :o

sorry I know it's not really relevant to windows 7 :P
    but..
is a serial key still valid after you activate the product?
I have a spare windows xp pro laying around and decided to use it.. the serial key works :) but microsoft is giving me 30 days to activate it..
    why?
and could I still use the same disc to install pro to other computers?
    thanks :)

    Hi

Have a look at this link on activation.
For multiple installs, you will require multiple licenses (keys)

    Hope this helps

While you can install it on as many computers as you want, you can only activate it on one computer at a time...

No... One license, one activation. You'll need acquire another key to activate another machine.
