how to disable auto updates Hi there all.
I wanted to ask this:
How can I disable the automatic windows update.it downloads about 500 mb every week and my internet provider gives me only 9 gig in 3 months so I will lose too much internet with these updates. So how can I do this?

Hello Roostaamir,
You can go into Windows Update settings, then under Important updates (step 4 at link), change it to Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them to do so.
Afterwards, you will need to manually check for Windows Updates, and install the ones you need.
Hope this helps,

In Control Panel > Windows Update you can change the settings. But if you are on the internet, it is not a good idea to skip the updates. Many (if not most) are security updates, | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP, Dell, Gateway, Toshiba - 4 laptops and 2 desktops OS Vista, Windows7, Mint Mate, Zorin, Windows 8 CPU from 1.6GHz Duo to i7 Monitor(s) Displays 2x HP w2207 Keyboard with trackball - no mices Mouse Trackball mice Hard Drives 5x HDD, 7x SSD, 12x Externals Internet Speed DSL 6000 |
