    Please help! I have not been able to overcome this error for the past few days...
    The error states:

    CodeA97 Windows update encountered an unknown error

    Try this
    Turn off the update and boot, turn on see how it works.

    If it does not work (not surprised), try this

    How do I reset Windows Update components?

    Hey rich...thanks for your help... enclosed is the picture of the error I got since I turned off auto updates...Was I supposed to turn it on again?

    Nope... No success yet...

    attached is the next error message I just got...

    thanks so very much for your help!

    I only tried the auto fix choice...I am not sure that I woud do any better manually

    I was supposed to reboot first...grr I missed the screen that said so for it was covered with other windows...let me try it again now...

    Ok... I ran windows update and this time it gave me a win runtime update for office security essentials... I tried to upload pic but was unable to...

    What woul happen if I were to get the file elsewhere? and where else can I get it from?

    I know how to get SP on line, (if there were some) but not the updates.

windows not updating due to error

Hello for the past couple of days i have been having trouble updating BOTH my Pc and my laptop. Well the PC updated but the laptop still has this error. I have attached the pic with the error code. I appreciate any and all assistance in this matter. Thanks,
