there is progress folks, I did the procedure here, rebooted and reopened win update... The history was gone! There is only a optional update to install, this one is:

Microsoft Office Access Runtime and Data Connectivity 2007 Service Pack 2 (SP2)
    Download size: 42.3 MB
You may need to restart your computer for this update to take effect.
    Update type: Important
Service Pack 2 provides the latest updates to Microsoft Office Access 2007 Runtime and 2007 Microsoft Office System Driver: Database Connectivity Components.
    More information:
Download details: Microsoft Office Access Runtime and Data Connectivity 2007 Service Pack 2 (SP2)
    Help and Support:
    Microsoft Support

But it is the one that won't install...
I guess more will be revealed once I click on dl/update...
I wonder what happened to the security update that had the code A97 error...

Unless the one that will not update is security, just right click and hide. From now on download only one update at a time.

Well here is my report this far...

Windows update erased all update history, even tho I know you guys told me it would not delete the updates... However as per picture attached, it failed to update...
    Three things,

    1. I installed a new software yesterday that uses some sort of microsoft c+ file software, I wish I would remember what it is called...hold on... lol---nah could not find what I was looking for...anyway this background file or files were not allowing me to install normally, it would mysteriously attach itself to another program's exe file...Tech support was able to help me install the software and now that program is running fine...

    2. can I pm either one of you? I know you are busy folks and I'll understand if you dont want me to...

    3. It just occured to me, wouldn't tech support be able to help since it is a microsoft file related issue?

again thanks a million for your help!

You seem have only issue with updates for Office (and maybe other MS software),not with updates strickly for system

Try all suggestions from these links:
How to install the individual 2007 Office features or to repair the installed 2007 Office programs

Description of the Patch Registration Cleanup Tool

If really nothing help I recommend reinstall completely Office
If you have any problem to uninstall it use "MS Fix It" from this site How do I uninstall the 2007 Office suites if I cannot uninstall it by using the "Add or Remove Programs" feature?

Now update will not install properly...

    Hi there again...:)

for about 2 days now, the same updates that did not want to install, are resurfacing again, this time with my system saying I have to shut down my computer so the file(s) completelly install. The system refuses to recognize the task as fully completed, and, like I said keeps asking to shut down...
    I need help please!

    Thank you!

Hey Rich, thanks for the advice, however, I think I do need to install that update, so I will try to read what Flavio posted and if I can't follow thru, I'll have to call Microsoft Phone assistance..

    Thanks for your help tho...:)
