I was reluctant to give you this thread because it does not seem to work for most. I decided to, however, since the Media solution did indeed work for me. http://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-d...e-install.html | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Dell XPS 420 OS Windows 7 Home Premium SP1, clean install, upgrade disc CPU Intel Core2 processsor Q8200(2.33Ghz 1333FSB) Quad Core Tech Motherboard Dell Memory 6 gb Graphics Card ATI Radeon 256MB HD3650 Sound Card Intergrated 7.1 Channel Audio Monitor(s) Displays Dell SP2009W 20" Keyboard Dell USB Keyboard Mouse Dell Premium Optical USB Cooling Fan Hard Drives 640 GB Serial ATA Hard drive Internet Speed DSL 2.85 |

You said in the other link Go into the event viewer then locate the error and click on the link. and then install.
See if that helps, but I doubt it. Where would you install it to after you download it. When you click on it a box comes up and ask where to install it. That's my question, where do you install it? | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP Pavilion Elite d5200t ATX PC OS Windows 7 Professional SP1 64 bit CPU Intel(R)Core(TM)2Quad procQ9550(2.83GHZ) Motherboard Pegatron Memory 8 GB Graphics Card 768MB NVIDIA GEFORCE 9600GS Sound Card Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Monitor(s) Displays Samsung T190 Screen Resolution 1440x900 Keyboard Microsoft Internet Keyboard Mouse MicroSoft IntelliMouse Optical PSU HP Case HP Cooling 2 Fans Hard Drives 640GB 7200RPM Sata 3Gb/s Internet Speed Cox Cable |

Can anyone advise on the status of this error.
I know lots of people have been getting it.
It doesn't appear to affect the performance of my PC but the error is persistent.
Am I right in assuming it's an MS issue and they will eventually fix it? | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Own build (+ Recased Acer Aspire x1800) OS Windows 7x64 Home Premium SP1 x 2 CPU Intel i7 2600k Motherboard ASUS P8Z68 Deluxe Memory G.Skill Ripjaws (DDR3-1600) 2x4GB Graphics Card Nvidia GeForce GTS 450; Intel HD Graphics 3000(GT2+) Monitor(s) Displays Dell Ultrasharp IPS panel U2311H, Samsung SyncMaster P2350 Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard Logitech MK520 (wireless) Mouse Logitech MK520 PSU Seasonic M12II 520W Case Lian Li Lancool PC-K60 Cooling Case: 1x120mm, 3x140mm CPU: Hyper 212+ Hard Drives Crucial M4 128GB (000F), Seagates 1TB Barracuda ST31000528AS + Internet Speed 6-7 Mbps Antivirus Norton NIS, Malwarebytes on 2 (MSE on 3rd PC) Browser FireFox Other Info Audio: Logitech Z523 2.1 |

About 3 weeks ago many, including me, started having this problem. It is probably caused by an update. Word is the MS will correct the problem with another update. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Dell XPS 420 OS Windows 7 Home Premium SP1, clean install, upgrade disc CPU Intel Core2 processsor Q8200(2.33Ghz 1333FSB) Quad Core Tech Motherboard Dell Memory 6 gb Graphics Card ATI Radeon 256MB HD3650 Sound Card Intergrated 7.1 Channel Audio Monitor(s) Displays Dell SP2009W 20" Keyboard Dell USB Keyboard Mouse Dell Premium Optical USB Cooling Fan Hard Drives 640 GB Serial ATA Hard drive Internet Speed DSL 2.85 |

Re the CAPI2- 4107 errors in application event log.
This has been an ongoing nuisance for some Operating Systems for some time.
I too received this error when using Vista Ultimate 64-bit. [ on one laptop - the other identical laptop / OS was ok.]
Research provided many so called fixes, none of which worked.
Links below provided for you to peruse. Windows 7 Ultimate getting tons of CAPI2- 4107 errors in application event log. Getting a Load of Event 4107, CAPI2 in the Application Log

I was getting this on both PCs here, and looks like I resolved it. At least for now.
It seems to be related to WMP network so ..
I left the Homegroup on both PCs.
Re-created it and re-joined on both.
Then, in Network and sharing options in Control panel:
Chose troubleshoot problems, and Homegroup.
Ignored the test for network and let it continue with Home Network.
It applied fixes to the Home Network. (certificate refresh) and asked if fixed, I said yes.
Done this on both PCs and the error is gone. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom (Self Build) OS Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit CPU Intel Core i7 2700k Motherboard eVGA P67 SLI Memory 8GB Mushkin Redline Ridgebacks @1866 Graphics Card EVGA GTX570 SC Sound Card XiFi Titanium HD Monitor(s) Displays LG W2453V Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard Saitek Cyborg PSU Seasonic x750 Case Corsair 600T SE White Cooling eVGA Superclocked CPU Cooler Hard Drives Intel 320 80GB -- Intel X25-V 40GB --WD Black 1TB x2 -- WD Blue 640GB Antivirus Kaspersky Browser IE Other Info LG BD/DVD All times are GMT -5.
