    Hello again!

    Firstly, my greatest thanks to MowGreen for the help he has given me in interpreting these logs. We both found the same line in the log, and he explained it to me :)

    Firstly, CBS.log.

    Indeed, you are correct that you cannot find your error code, however, you can find it in a .cabbed persist.

    However, I find it very difficult to believe that you don't have enough space to move the bootmgr around. Either we should take from another header, or something odd is at work!

    What multiboot configuration do you have set up?
    I have C: (NTFS) 100GB - 12G free space
    D: (NTFS) - 250G - 1GB free space

    I have Ubuntu as dual-boot which is actually installed on D:\Ubuntu folder (not separate Linux Partition). Also am using Win7 Boot loader. I can uninstall Ubuntu completely if req.

    Now that is interesting. MowGreen told me that you would almost certainly have a Corporate Edition installed. I am not quite sure how he knew, but he is magic! He strongly recommends uninstalling it.

    You need to go back to your office, and try to find the Removal Tool.

    But I don't think that that webpage includes the corporate edition which you have installed. Is that correct? Exactly what name and version do you have installed?

    The exact product is "Symantec client Security - Antivirus - corporate edition 10.2" - Enterprise Support - Symantec Corp. - Release notes for Symantec AntiVirus 10.2 Client for Vista and Windows Server 2008

    I was told by Security team that it can be uninstalled by add/remove programs

    Finally, i had success with SP1 installation.

    I uninstalled Symantec AV from add/remove programs and then ran Norton_Removal_Tool.exe which did the cleanup.

    Rebooted and installed SP1. It worked straight away.

    Thank you Niemiro and all others who helped me fix the issue.

    Now, can I install Symantec AV or do you suggest "MS Security Essentials" instead?

    Hello Prvn!

    That is truly excellent news!

    My advice would be to stick clear of that Corporate Edition on home computers. However, whether you go back to Symantec is your choice. Personally, I wouldn't, and a very many would have a much stronger view saying "no" to going back. I think go to MSE (I use it and like it a lot )
