Windows 7 Home Premium OEM product Key Invalid

    Hi,
I am posting in a new thread as requested.
I bought this Windows 7 home premium OEM from coastal software and downloaded the ISO. The product key was sent to me via email so there is no CD or other media. I have done a clean custom install of Win7 HP 3 times and each time the key still comes up as invalid. I have followed all the steps and instruction that was given to another chap who looked like was having the exact same problem but still not worked so I really hope you can help me.
Here is a copy of the result after I ran the MGADiag Tool.

The installed Key is the Default Key for Windows 7 Home Premium - which can never be activated.

The machine appears to have shipped with Vista installed.

Sale of OEM 'Keys' with download is illegal - you should demand a refund from the vendor, and report them to the authorities and to MS,then purchase a legitimate license for Windows 7.

I went on live chat with MS customer service before buying this product and they said that i could buy this product to do a clean install on windows7 on my laptop.
So i purchased the ISO from the vendor and the download info was sent to me via email with my receipt amd purchase confirmation. So are you sayin that this transaction is illegal?

PS i should clarify that i didn't mention to MS customer service that it was an electronic purchase. I only chatted with them to confirm that i could buy an OEM product rather than a full retail or upgrade product to install Window's on my laptop as MS store no longer sell windows 7 and most vendors are only selling the Windows 7 OEM

Even MS themselves do not sell OEM licenses by electronic download - they only sell Retail that way.
The sale was illegal, and in breach of the license, therefore even if you could get the Key installed and activated it would be defined as counterfeit.

Alright thanks a lot for that. I'll ring my credit card company and see if they can do something about this for me

I've checked the UK store and they do not sell Windows 7. Also the link you attached was for sale of the full DVD. I can imagine this might take a while if i'm waiting for delivery from the US

If I remember right, they may ship by mail but will email the Key (although I may be confusing it with the Get Genuine offer - which I don't recommend)

The Win7 OEM iso i purchased wasn't particularly cheap and I'd checked around the site to confirm that they were genuine before buying the product so you can imagine my shock now finding this out. Can you recommend a reputable UK sight that I may be able to purchase from. I saw a retail pack (instead of OEM) on ebuyer.com. Is ebuyer reputable?
