    Interesting - here's a sample error message...
    Code:
    2013-10-24 16:29:39:468 1228 2184 Report REPORT EVENT: {478D10D9-FFB8-48EA-987C-434CA62CEFDD} 2013-10-24 16:29:29:609+0900 1 182 101 {7A5051DD-63E5-43F4-ABFD-42104200C47D} 200 80070664 AutomaticUpdates Failure Content Install Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x80070664: Microsoft Office 2013š —…데이Š(KB2760267) 64„Š „ „.
note the corruption at the end (or at least, I *think* it's corruption).

Probably the thing to do is to reset the SD folder....

This could be due to corruption in the SoftwareDistribution folder - the problem with that the conventional cure can lead to problems later on, if not handled properly, and you will lose your Update history (but the updates will still be installed, and viewable in the Installed Updates listing).

    Openan Elevated Command Prompt

    Run the following commands

    NET STOP WUAUSERV

    REN C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution SDOLD

    NET START WUAUSERV

    wait 15 minutes, and reboot

then wait 10 minutes, and open Windows Updates, and run a Check for Updates.

Install only the oldest update found - and reboot once installed

then go back to Windows updates and install the others.

    <crosses fingers :)>

Performed as instructed yet no donut.

    1. Can I uninstall ALL updates then Reinstall?
    2. Do I need to rename/delete any folders from previous steps to reverse what I did from :

    NET STOP WUAUSERV

    REN C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution SDOLD

    NET START WUAUSERV

Don't let me distract you from Noel's work.

Have you hit the Try Again button on the WU dialog box?

Yes. No matter how many times I try, it's always the same 30 updates that fail.

OK - we'll have to try an look a little deeper.
There's no need to clean up until later - although you can delete the SDOLD folder if you like, now - please post the new Windowsupdate.log file, and I'll see if I can make more sense out of the latest entries.

The corruption appears to have been changed, at least - see these lines...
    Code:

From what I can make out, the error code now is created when the temporary file folder are corrupted or unavailable.

    First, download TFC from here....
TFC - Temp File Cleaner by OldTimer - Geeks to Go Forums

run it and allow it to delete everything it finds.
reboot, and then try Windows Update again - post the new windowsupdate.log file success or fail.

Again apologies for the late reply. It was 3am here.

I deleted the temp folders using the recommended tool. Thanks. It's quite handy.

    Updates failed again unfortunately.

The three updates date you posted have strange characters that you may not recognize.

I am running a Korean version of Windows with an English language pack. Yet I have set Region and language to the US as my Korean is quite poor. Does this affect anything?

    Thanks again.

Hmm - let's have a close look at that...
we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag tool
(download and save to desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )
    Once saved, run the tool.
Click on the Continue button, which will produce the report.
To copy the report to your response, click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either r-click/Paste, or Ctrl+V ) into your response.

I think the next step is probably to do a repair install on the Office installation -
Go to Programs & Features >Uninstall a Program
find the Office 2013 entry and highlight it - you should have the option to 'Change' as well as uninstall pick that, and take the option to Repair the install.
Follow the instructions, then try WU again - with only Office updates selected
