File Backup

Hi,

Im not sure if this is in the right subject as it's a weird one, so sorry if it is.

Basically, i have specific folders/files in the My Pictures and Document folders that i add to almost everyday.
I want to make sure i have a backup of them and the last time i tried it, by creating a Winrar folder and burning them onto a disc took quite a while.

I'm wondering if there is a way to backup the folders on to a disc (or seperate discs as it they are large files) easily and to overwrite the previously written data.
E.g. Insert disc 1 and let the computer burn part of the files then insert disc 2 etc. (Almost like backing up your computer normally)

Also if i could password protect the discs aswell. (Winrar has a password thing i used but i don't want to go down that long route everytime).

What burning program do you use? Some can create multisession discs, which enables you to add to them later. As for the password thing, I think winrar might be the way to do that. I don't know of another solution for that, but I'm sure there's another way.

I simply drag and drop the winrar file on to it.

If you use the right cd, you can create multisession discs. (I think CD-R s will do that) I know Nero will do multisession discs, but I think you can do it with windows' built in burning function. (my dad did it in xp)

Hmmm. I don't have nero on my laptop.

Was just hoping for a simple, pick file and burn to over-write and add a password protect.

I think one program that'll work is ashampoo burning studio 6, as this can do disc backups very well, and I think it can do multisession discs. You can download it here:

Ok, I am awaiting your result.

I would use an external HD but i had 2 of them and both broke causing me too lose a lot of data. So i tend to use discs more =/
