    windows seven ultimate backup prog.

Hey guys and gals my backup program in windows seven ultimate won't backup to multiple cds either and just locks up my twin multi blue lg cd players and will not let you have the first initial cd from the drive to continue the sys backup process, so does anyone have any insight into this issue because I can't do a complete sys backup from within the seven ultimate os!. My sys is brand new cyber power sys with the 875k sys processor and 8gb ram with two 500 gb drives and two lg blue ray cd players with liquid cooling, and a gigabyte P55A-UD3 Motherboard so the sys should do the trick huh?

Heres the story. Although it is suppose to back up to CD many, including myself have had your problem. It happens in the same way. You need to back up to an external hard drive. Some have reported success with the CD, but I would not count on it when needed.
It does not back up to a CD. I had to force a shut down, when I tried.

Okay Rich I've got the same results and no joy with the backup program in windows seven ultimate, and the same result with the process, is there nothing that can be done to fix the issue and why did the seven team not see such a common faillure point with the backup program in the first place, I know you can probably back up to an external hard drive but I was counting on the multi blue ray cd backup process you know baby, But anyway thanks for the reply Lol!

    I have two concerns
When I tried it froze on the 3rd CD. I had to plug the plug. Not good
Second concern is, can we use the image if needed?

Although, I do not know how to fix the issue, I would not try, it may not be there when needed.

    I backed up using this

Until you get an external HD, you can save the image to a primary formatted partition on your HD, then send a copy over the network to another computer - put it in the root of the C: drive so you can find it.

    sevennhvn,

    Backup to an external drive.

True, one can backup to DVDs (not CDs) but one will end up with a pile of DVDs.

I've got an external USB drive which I use for my system image backups and my data backuips. I use Win 7 Backup & Restore for the system image backups and SyncToy for the data backups.

Backing a System Image up to an external drive can be done quickly and easily. After several Western Digital 160-1,000 GB USB and Firewire 400 drives eventually failed on me I got a 2 GB LaCie Raid 0 HDD to fill out my set of 3 backup drives that in addition to USB and Firewire 400 and 800 also has 3 Gb/s eSATA which backs up and restores much quicker than the other drives did.
