    Cannot restore backup files

    Ok, I'll explain my situation:

So I have a macbook pro, and I use bootcamp to install Windows 7 on a partition. I prefer Windows, so the Windows partition is larger than OS X, though I find it advantageous to have both. Anyway, I recently picked up Windows 7 Ultimate, and at the time I had 7 Home Premium on the partition. I backed up everything, deleted the partition, etc etc.

The first time I installed 7 Ultimate, everything worked out, but I wanted to make the partition bigger again. So, I backed up what I had on 7 Ultimate, formatted the partition, then made it larger. Blah, blah, blah, reinstalled Ultimate, everything is working fine. Now, trying to restore my files this time, I'll go to backup and restore and it won't show my external hard drive as a backup and restore location when I click "select another backup to restore files from". So, I dragged the backup from my hard drive to the desktop to see if I could do that at all. Still nothing, even when I click on the backup itself, it will ask restore files or cancel and I click restore files, then it just brings up the backup location window again.

Is my only option to browse each backup file individually and bring them onto the computer? I have about 47 zip files in the backup. PLEASE help, I'm getting very frustrated.

You are probably best advised to do it manually. All Windows backup facilities are capririous - that's why I never use them any more. There are much better options.

Ah ok, thank you. Man that's gonna take a while. Like a week.

Before you do, wait a day. Maybe someone who uses that facility will have a better idea. Just make sure you "experiment" on a copy of the backup files so that you don't lose everything.
