    Well ****, OneCare backup...

So I have this OneCare backup from ages ago that I wish to restore. Well, OneCare isn't supported on Windows 7 so I thought I was clever and enabled compatibility mode and I actually got the setup to run but it failed before finishing. Poop.

Anyone have a suggestion for recovering the data in this OneCare backup?

    PS: I love this forum.

Set up a virtual machine with Windows XP or Vista (and use it for evaluation with no key) then restore the data to it.

Sweet let me know how it works. After that, you then should be able to trasfer the data via network (virtual network). Also, if you install the integration features on the VM, the local machines drives will be mapped. Makes it easy for trasnferrgin files. Make sure to leave enough room for the docs, create a dynamically expanding hard drive to be sure that you have sufficient space.
