    Admin Password?

I shall soon be taking delivery of a new Laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit

With previous Versions of Windows I have never Set an Admin Password so that the Computer Boots straight to the Desktop, which is how I like it

I have been reading about the new System Image\Files Backup and Restore feature

It seems that an AdminPassword is required either for Backup or Restore (not sure which or both) and that Windows will not accept a 'blank' Password

If this is correct then I'd better create an Admin Password?

    Can someone enlighten me please

    Welcome
Dont take a chance by guessing. Set a password, then try the procedures in question. If a password is not needed then you can remove it.

The main drawback with not setting a password on your account is that anyone who has access to or steals your computer also has access to any unprotected data on the machine.

For that reason alone, it's always best to put a password on your account.
