Trying to Re Image my computer with problems

Hey i got some new hard drives so using the windows image backup tool i made a image of my entire system at the time, then i moved it onto a external USB drive.

Now i have fully reformated my new hard drives and now i want to use the image to restore everything i used to have.

im following this System Image Recovery

but when im up to this part: 3. From the System Recovery Options Screen at Boot

i get a error "cannot find specified file" 0x80070002

so now the only thing i can think of is to use the command prompt that is 2 options down from the system image recovery option.

im not sure how to use the command prompt i managed to get it to point from X: to C: but i dont know how to go further or load the iso when i get to it.

can anyone help please!

also if it matters at all my hard drives are currently in RAID 0
then i got a extra hard drive (my old one that is not in raid) that has only the windows backup on it

Thanks for the help!!!!!!!

thanks for the replys,

the result of the elevated command prompt is shown in the attachment i have uploaded.

the backup is stored on the E: but i did the command on both C: and E: with same result

and yes the file directory is E:\WindowsImageBackup at the moment im copying it again so there is one here aswell C:\WindowsImageBackup if it matters at all

i cant remember how long i left the External USB hard drive in when i was creating the image directly too it, is there a chance it didnt finish moving it? even though it looked finished???

Did you get a message on the Backup progress bar that the backup had completed?

There would also be a popup on top of that asking if you want to make a Repair CD, unless you had ticked the box telling it not to ask you again.

After reading this thread I have one point of confusion so please forgive my ignorance. From the System Image Recovery tutorial, Step One, Note:

Quote:
If you moved the WindowsImageBackup folder within another folder or to another partition or drive, then you will also need to move it back to the original partition or drive letter it was created on.
In your first sentence you said, "...i made a image of my entire system at the time, then i moved it onto a external USB drive."

With all the moving around and changing the root partition/volume is it possible that the system image might have been corrupted in some way? My apologies if this is a stupid question.

hey, the backup was created directly to a USB External Drive then. so do i have to change drive letters to be the same as the drive was back then for it to work?

also is there an option to which drive the backup installs onto right? or does it install onto the one the iso is on?

is there any way to find out what drive letter it originaly saved to? i was looking through some files with text editor and one of them said something about J: so i think that could be the original drive letter
