is there a way to clone the windows?!

    Hello,
    is there a way to make a clone of windows;
with all my settings, programs & there settings!
[ everything i have changed & added to windows,
drivers & gadgets; SIMPLY EVERY THING ]
    * then save it in External Hard Drive,
& lets say i have formatted my windows,
then restore this clone: as of nothing happened.
    Thanks & Best REGARDS

+1 ... the best and cheapest way .
Though , to be save you should keep it in an external HDD ,
and a system repair cd " right after you make windowsImageRecovery"
it wil ask you to do so .

Some people prefer 3rd party software over the built in Windows 7 backup utility. They give more flexibility and functionality.

    Hello DaYiM.

Here's an excellent tutorial to go along with Macrium, at the link below; I too suggest 3rd party software over the default Windows 7 backup, it seems more reliable.

I bought a WD hard drive for short change and an external hard drive case with esata over power and WD's web site has a free Acronis program that's great. Cloneing is just one thing it does well. Catch is you have to have the WD on the system one way or the other to get Acronis working.
Also Seagate has the same thing from Acronis for Sea Gate drives.

A sound piece of advice: it's best to keep multiple system image back-ups, no matter which software you use.
I make back up images at least weekly & before any major changes to system, should it go awry.
