Full System Image Restore - Fails

    Hello

I am trying to restore my PC after my 150Gb C drive failed. I have bought a 128Gb SSD to replace it and the data that was on the C was less than ~50Gb.
I have multiple disks and run a full backup each week. I would like to know if its possible to recover just the C drive? When I try to exclude the other disks which have data on I'd like to save it says I disk was missing thats needed for the restore.
When trying to restore and not excluding any disks I get an error message saying:
"A data disk is currently set as active in the BIOS. Set some other disk as active or use DiskPart utility to clean the data disk and retry the restore operation (0x80042406)"

Anyone got any suggestions to either problem?

    Thanks

Oh great. Bit of waste of time doing all those backups. 3rd party software required next time I guess?

NO, just the same size HD or larger, replacement.

I dont have and cant find a 150Gig Raptor and I've already bought a 120Gb SSD so I'll have to re-install from scratch and then use a 3rd party bit of software to backup seen as I cant always guarantee I'll be able to replace a disk with exactly the same size in the future, making these backups pointless.

    This works

This worked for me. When reinstalling I had the option to use the Command Prompt instead of Use Recovery. Choose command prompt and do what it says in this following article. Then close Command Prompt and try your recovery again:

    Good luck!
