100 meg isn't really very much for restore points.
I would generally say a couple of gigs at least.

but the problem is automatic restore points are not being made. 100 gig space set up, but only used 27 gig. Automatic restore point still should have beem set up. Something is blocking it. What can i do

okay there is a very big difference between 100 megs and 100 gigs. You can disregard my post I was apparently acting on bad info.

Although the task is set to run every day it only ensures that you get a minimum of one RP per week.

Older RPs are automatically deleted to make room for new ones when your allocated storage becomes full. I cant remember whether the installation of SP1 caused prior RPs to be deleted. I think it did but I'm not sure.

OK, which is it 100 megabytes or Gigabytes ? Your post says megabytes then you say it`s gigabytes ?

Set it to 50 Gigabytes if you have the room and make sure system restore is turned on.
Service pack 1 should have nothing to do with it.
