This is going to be a really silly question to most of you.

There are a lot of drivers in that list.

Is there a quick easy way for me to know which ones I should have or should I just download them all.

    Jon,

Personally I would recommend for you to save yourself $15 from not buying that disc from a 3rd party, and just download all of the drivers for your specific computer model directly from Dell at the link below for free. You can save the driver installation files to another location like a DVD or USB flash drive. After you are finished doing the factory recovery, you can install the drivers one by one.

Not silly at all. I would recommend to download the latest version of them all. You'll need to install all of them after finishing installing Windows 7. :)

I might be wrong but from what I am looking at there are different drivers for different configurations such as different display drivers?

I am going to dig a little and see what some of this is. It looks like I need to figure out what some of the components in this computer are?

Yeah, it doesn't help much when they don't make it all standard for the same model number.

To help with that, you could open Device Manager (devmgmt.msc) and look at the description and/or the details in the properties pages for each type of device to see which driver to download for it.

    Thanks,

Hmmm, I see my DVD RW is not on the list.

You usually do not need to install a driver for a DVD drive. The ones listed at Dell are firmware updates for the drive instead and not drivers. I wouldn't worry about it.

Thanks for all the help everyone. I am backup and running but have a couple of issues still. I will post these in another thread.

I didn't think running a diagnostic would help anything but point to problems. A few things going wrong went away after running it.

Some issues I didn't get taken care of until this morning but I have one that really confuses me now.

Off to post about an issue that is troubling me.

    Thanks again everyone.

Thanks for all of your help. I did take up a bunch of your time and it was very nice of you to give it.
