Restoring XP hard drive onto Windows 7

My XP computer will not boot, so I want to know if I can set up my existing XP hard drive as a slave on a new computer that has Windows 7. I would then copy files from my XP drive to my new Windows 7 drive.

Are there issues with this process?

That should work OK. The Windows 7 PC should recognize the XP drive and you could then drag your files over. If the XP drive does not show up immediately, you should go to Windows 7 Disk Management and assign a drive letter to it.

If the Hd Drive is SATA,yes. If IDE may be.
