Restore point error

That was all the info in system specs. When I clicked on the icon there was more, but didn't know if it was necessary to put all that on. I had nothing in there about the monitor and the rest of the specs required. Does this suffice and help at all? Thanks.

Are you sure that Dell model number is complete and correct?

The Dell number was already there, I didn't add it. There was no icon for "dell" either. Is there somewhere else I can go to find it?
Also, how do I find these tutorials you guys always send me to? Maybe I can find them myself and save you guys some headaches.
I asked you on another thread and I don't think you are supposed to do that, but I thought while I have you here - do you think I should still reinstall windows? Also, when I did the repair using the windows disk - it repaired Drive D, which was the disk drive and there was no place to tell it to repair drive C which is my main hard drive. Any ideas? It would be nice to try that first.

At any rate, the point is: I never heard of that Dell model, so are you sure it is complete and correct? Consult your purchase records or Dell Service Tag if nothing else.

A repair disc is not going to repair anything on D. There is nothing on D to repair. Windows does not live there. So I don't know what you really did or thought you did. Most likely you really did nothing.

Whether or not you should reinstall is up to you. If everything is working OK, why do it?

What CDs and/or DVDs did you get with the PC when you bought it and can you find those discs?

You should consider restoring to Vista the way the PC was the day it arrived. But we can't go anywhere with that without accurate info about what Dell you have and if you have any discs from Dell.

And you still haven't answered if this is a laptop or desktop.

I have a laptop. When I went in the system specs it was there. Maybe the guy who installed windows 7 put it there. My system service tag is 4PZ17J1. Looking at my service records there are several items that have Dell in them, so not sure which one is the model - how about Core 2 duo E7400/2 8ghs.3m 1066FSB, vostro 220. I have all the disks I got with the PC
When I put the windows 7 disk in it automatically went to drive D, it didn't do anything and said everything was ok. I wish I could figure out how to repair disc C.
Everything seems to be going okay. I haven't tried system restore and don't want to. Xoftspyse won't go away, but other than that, it seems to be ok right now.

If so, it is a Dell Vostro 220 desktop.

Put that information into your system specs if that looks like what you have.

Your service tag links to a Vostro 220 desktop at Dell, so I don't know why you think you have a laptop. Maybe you do have a laptop? What do I know.

Give full details on the discs you got with the PC. What EXACTLY does it say on them?

I assume you would take step 2 on that list.

Or if that doesn't apply to you and you don't actually have "PC Restore", use step 3.

I am embarrased - I have a desktop.
I have the following disks from Dell: Application, drivers and utilities - both for reinstalling Dell vostro 220 computer software. These are already installed on your computer.
I updated my system specs - are they ok now?

Is there any way to just reinstall Windows 7 instead of going back to vista and would it be successful?
