How do I get my newly installed Hard Drive (1TB) with Win 7 installed
to boot up. Here's my issue I have a HP Desk top w/ a standard 320 GB hard Drive. I bought a new Hard drive (1 TB Western Digital) so that I could move everything to the new one and use the old one as storage. I had trouble even formatting the new drive but eventually got it and successfully installed a full version of Win 7. (the old hard drive has Win Vista with Win 7 upgrade on it. When I boot up the computer I receive a message asking which WIN 7 i want to use and actually either one works. I wanted to format my old drive so that I would only have one Operating system w/ WIN 7 installed.
I tried to format it (the old drive) at the command prompt, but alas it wouldn't let me. So, I said the hell with it and opened the case and disconnected the power cord first and then I unplugged the SATA cable as well as the power cable to the hard drive. I tried to re-start the computer but now it says cannot find something, unable to read or error. So, I take it something is missing from the new WIN 7 install to my new hard drive? WOuld luv a simple fix explanation from someone waay more knowledgeable than myself. Thanks in Advance!
