Could it be that your system restore doesn't have enough room to make a restore? You can go to system restore and add more room as well as turn it on and off. If you don't know how here's a tutorial How to Enable or Disable System Restore in Windows 7

You should do a image save at least once a week ND BACK UP every day. Or at least that is what I am going to start doing. Luckily I have 7 external HDs but I am myself just finding this out. Never turn off your computer, before running a virus and adware scan, after doing alot of downloading torrents, or going to unknown sites. Even if the sites appear ok. I learned just searching for apartments, tools, TVs ect will put alot of bad malware cookies on your computer that will mess you up.

I am going to began doing what I sugg. above after I find out if my issue ( I posted in crashes forum) can be fixed or not. I lost alot of new impt. data from july to Oct 26 I think because I failed to backup or do a system image. If I would have known how easy making a image was this would have never happened.

believe it or not *-* that what i usually do virus-cautious-brother =D (lol)

but i don't have extra HDD to spare for system image atm.

also sorry to hear your lost =( you can try Roll back progrem, it like SR but far batter, it let you make images too and the restore points u make save all your files and not just the system files =D and it even take less mbs then windows system restore ^^

one big minus though.. it slow the pc.. at least that how it was on the laptob with intel I3 that i use to tested it
