Windows 7: Acronis Disk Director

Win 7 Ultimate x64

I am just looking at their website was it recently updated? I don't see Win7 under working OS's.

But regardless, is there any difference accomplishing the above task in either of my OS's? I just want to make sure I don't overlook something and end up screwing up the partitions and then loosing both OS's!

Microsoft Windows 7 Professional X64

I upgraded True Image yesterday. It's got some new features that I've got to try out yet. It can convert from and to Windows backup files as well as mount system backups virtually. GUI is looking more up to date too.

However, I can't say much about Disk Director. The latest build is #2160. Release date March 1, 2007. Disk Director may work with the 32 bit build of Windows 7, but sure craps out on the 64 bit version.

Windows 7 x64 SP1 - Ubuntu 10.10 x64 - Linux Mint 10 (dual boot + Virtual Box)

Guys, acronis is hit and miss. I'm on Vista x64 with Win7 x64 in a VM for now (dual boot also, but with no apps or anything, testing is in VM )(going slow). In preparation yesterday I installed new Acronis Backup and Recovery v10.0.11105 Workstation (Trial whew!), I had been using Disk Director + True Image 9.7.8206. I did a clean install, uninstalled first ALL acronis products. All went ok till reboot: BSOD, in normal AND safe mode. Had to stick in my rescue CD and recover my C partition. Browsing acronis forums, it shows they have a serious problem with a driver "snapapi drivers" that control card readers.
ANOTHER BOTHER: I use mostly the acronis secure zone for backups. The new version wont erase old backups by it self.....
Maybe its time to start looking elsewhere ?????

Microsoft Windows 7 Professional X64

I've got good news and bad news. Acronis updated DD a couple of weeks ago. However it still isn't compatible with Windows 7.

At least after manually uninstalling DD using JV16 Powertools and the Windows Install Clean Up tool, the DD update software recognized Windows 7 and aborted the updated installation file from completing the executable.

I also used disk director but I think it is not very easy to use. But I cannot use it on Windows 7. I just used EASEUS Patition Master and the Home edition help me a lot on partition manager. I wish it will help you.

Partitions visible in disk director but not in Win Explorer (Win 7)
I have 3 drives in my PC - the largest of which I'd recently copied the contents of a smaller drive over to (8 partitions). This also held my old copy of XP as my backup OS. Since moving everything it wouldn't work, so I decided to reinstall XP today, but even after doing so it still wouldn't run,...

Acronis Disk Director 11 Home Upgrade
I'm considering buying this upgrade, because I liked version 10 on XP. Unfortunately, that is not compatible with W7. Two questions comes to mind...1. Will it be installed totally separate from the previous version, or must the old version be used also? 2. Does this truly work as well on W7 x64...
