Actually, I just got it to work. I loaded from the CD again and was on Macrium. I clicked the option under 'Restore' saying something like repair or something like that. I then clicked all the check marks and then it restarted and now I am running on my backup from my external HDD all thanks to you!

That's OK, I'll be here. Burn it on your laptop. Your desktop is not yet functioning, but we will get this bugger to work.

Sounds promising. But the red part I do not yet fully understand. Did the system properly boot ??

I am sure glad that your system is back in good order. It was a learning process for both of us because I had never done that on a real live example - only with test partitions. Have fun and if you have any other problems, come back to see us.

Yeah, that is a good idea. Why don't you try to help the next guy. Nearly every day there is someone that loses his Window image. In the future, use Macrium for imaging. It is a lot more robust as you have seen.

One last question (that you do not have to answer if you don't feel like). How old are you. I am 74.

I thought so. Age of my grandchildren. It is good that the generations can help each other.
