Backup to both partitions?

    Backup to both partitions?


    I'm going to be buying a new hard drive soon, and I'm going to be using both partitions on my 320GB Seagate hard drive for backup.
    But can you actually do that using the native Windows backup and how would you do so? I'm using BitLocker on the 1st partition, which is where my backup is. Would I be able to encrypt both partitions with backup?

    Hello Craig,

    Yes, you could encrypt both drives/partitions with BitLocker Drive Encryption if you like. However, they must be unlocked before you will be able to backup to and from them.

Backup 3 partitions

I bought a Toshiba laptop and it has 3 partitions, the first partition says 1.46 GB Healthy (Active recovery partition) 2. I'm getting mixed signals on this. I use Acronis myself so there is no issue there. But, I have clients that want to only use the Windows 7 backup feature to backup the hard drive. Most of what I've seen, including the Tutorial on here, states the Windows 7 backup only backs up NTFS partitions...
