    Win7 64bit RTM Image recover and Partition

    Hello very one
    I Install windows 7 RTM in Hitachi 80G after that I make image to DVD.
    today I received 320G seagate Hard drive back from seagate, I run Image recover from DVD after done recover from dvd system boot fine, but I see total 3 partition
    100mb = sytem
    80G = C NTFS Boot page file
    221GB + not active.

    Is this wind 7 default recover ?

    I would like to recover with 1 partition
    for example
    100MB = sytem
    301G = C
    can I do that?
    Please show me how
    thank you

    That's 2 partitions. 100MB and 301GB

    You just need resize your C: drive using disk management.

    You sure he didnt intsll the page file to a different partition? It looks to me like

    100 meg system reserved part
    80 gig page file (page, active, & probably boot)
    221 gig partition marked not active

    you're right. Need to delete 221GB partition first.

    Or use something like Acronis Disk manager to merge partitions.

    no, unfortunately.

    If there is no data on it, just delete it. Then you can use Windows 7 to expand the C: partition.

    Although I wouldn't really recommend to put everything on the C: drive. It makes it more difficult to do a nice clean install (you can no longer format C: without losing all of your data).

    Thank you Sup3rsprt
    I did Expand the 80G c drive to 279G.

    right now I had problem with for make system Image. My c drive it has 2 partition 100mb for system reserved and the rest is C drive.
    in 100mb system reserved has nly 39mb free space when i try o do system Image the error show I need to have minimum 50mb free space. but for system reserved partition no way I can make expand moe space.

    do you know how to fix this problem?

    There are many ways to fix this problem. The easiest is probably to make an image of the entire hard disk rather than each individual partition.

    Another way is to move the boot manager to C: drive using bcdboot command, make partition C: active, then delete the reserved partition and resize C:

    Another way is to find a backup program that doesn't have this silly limitation about free space.

    Provided you are not trying to image *to* the system partition - this is a no-no.

    Yes Sup3rsprt I try to make the image for thi hold hard drive, but I got this error " Threre is not enough disk space to create the volum shadow copy on storage location. Make sure that for all volume to be backup up, the minimum disk space required for shadow copy creation is available. this applies to both the backup storage destination and volume included in the backup. Minimum requirement for Volumes less than 500 megabytes, the minimum is 50 megabyte of free space. for voulimes more than 500 megabytes, the minimum is 320 megabytes of free space. Recommended at least 1 gigabytes free of disk space on each volumes if volumes size is more than 1 gigabytes (0x80780119)"

    I know the problem is System reserve is low under 50mb. I need some how to add more MB in that drive.

    I give up at this point.

    do you know how we can view system reserve drive see what we got in that partition
