Error code 0x8000ffff in system restore

Computer was running fine until I used a safe mode windows firewall sweeper in order to get rid of this nasty Trojan horse.
The program ran fine and it delete just the Trojan horse "no other program or files were removed"
I've tried several times to system restore but still the same error message.

Is it possible it did something to my registry and can clear CMOS work to fix it? I cannot get past the system restore screen and the bios screen can also get command prompt.

If there is nothin that I can do to solve the problem would erasing everything and starting out fresh fix it?

Please help.

If you tried to do the restore in the normal OS configuration, try going back into Safe Mode to do it.

If you use Option One you can either follow step 1 or immediately while restarting your machine tap the F8 key on your keyboard, it may also be the delete key.

Please read the warning at the top before you start. Safe Mode
