Reimaged PC from Laptop w/ win7 x64-now PC hangs up
Hey everyone,
I just joined these forums today, and I have very little "forum experience", so bare with me.
My desktop PC had windows XP x86. I went down and bought a Catalyst 7770 1GB video card and attempted to install it. The install disk for the video card didn't have 32-bit XP drivers on it, so I decided to go ahead and make a system image of my laptop, which is running Windows 7 64 bit, and put it on my desktop. I used Norton Ghost to do this and had no issues during this process. I rebooted the PC and everything came up just fine. I had to install the video card via the install disk with no incident. Windows 7 seemed to be able to find drivers for all other devices with no issue. The only problem I have now is; every few minutes the entire computer hangs up... freezes... stops... No error messages at all. It lasts for about 4-7 minutes... which is a long time for just sitting here waiting on it to work. Also, seconds after it hangs up, the light on the bottom of my laser mouse goes off.... when it comes back on, I know the computer is working again. I started the task manager to see if I saw any processes start or stop when this happens, and I didn't notice anything. The system resources don't max out.
In fact, it has done this 4 times since I started writing this post. Does anyone have any ideas about this? My laptop does not have this issue, so it makes me thing its something hardware related.
Thanks in advance for all your help!
