Yes I was going to format a pendrive and wiped out my external 2TB HDD by mistake I saw this long thread and started scanning the drive using partition recovery wizard.

If i don't have many partitions will the software show me one huge partition of 2TB at the end of scan right? if it works I mean.

Please explain your problem. A disk volume is always in a partition! Or in 2 partitions (striping or mirroring). Or in many partitions... RAID5 for example.

So I can't understand why you have a "single large volume" and no partitions.

You say "the software".

What software?

Diskpart? Partition Wizard?

This thread is about Diskpart.

This thread is also 2 years old.

It's probably best for you to start a new thread in the backup and recovery section if you are trying to recover something.

How did you wipe it? Just deleted the partition with some software?
You didn't recreate partitions afterwards?

We need to know what happened before we can give you steps to do.

Yes sorry for the confusion I was referring to the "Partition Wizard" software

And to clarify my problem I don't have multiple partitions on the disk as the original poster has but instead its one big 2TB drive. I was wondering if "Partition Wizard" would work in such scenarios.

Just ran simple clean command without the "all" option and I haven't touched the disk or did any operation on it then.

It should, but you should start a new thread for your specific issue if necessary.
