Need system restore to later date than available

Would like to restore system to a recent date to reverse some s/w updates that are causing problems. Apparently the option restore point creation function in the protection section of W-7 has been turned off since 06/2012, since that is the latest date listed under the system restore listing. Can I somehow restore to a later date maybe by accessing the calendar type options page similar to that of XP?

Hello swartj, and welcome to Sevenforums!

Find out everything about restore, including showing more restore points here: System Restore

If you do not have any restore points before the issue, perhaps we could help you attempt to fix the problem through another means.

No, you cannot. I would apportion more space so that more restore points last longer in System Protection - Change Disk Space Usage.

If you have problems with software updates then uninstall them in Control Panel or by rolling back Windows Updates as DustSailor showed. You may need to completely uninstall and then reinstall a program.

If the updates have interfered with System performance run SFC -SCANNOW Command.

If that isn't sufficient, work through these Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7
