I'm not sure Julian - I think its OEM specific. Some OEM's have a hissy-fit if the System Reserved is altered in any way. See my thread in the other place for that.

Yes Golden, my Laptop works like new, far better than before, the windows is genuine and everything looks like it is shipped today from Dell, although I am disappointed with what dell asked for, £100 to make everything as it was, I just spent £40 to buying new HDD (500GB), if I had listened to Dell technical advice I would have lost £100 without repairing MY PC , as they do not know what was the problem... with the help of you and other guys from this forum I have made my pc work again and better than it was.
I really did not know about OEM install, and you were the one who pointed me out to that... it is true I’ve lost some software like matlab, Microsoft office package, but I can download them again from the web, I got Norton internet security 2012 free from a friend of mine ,,,
So thank you a lot again Golden

just was thinking about the reason why my HDD failed, why it has lots of bad sectors, after conducting many researches I have come to that conclusion the dead battery that cannot hold the power and makes the computer shutdown suddenly is the most probable reason,, many times my pc was shut downed suddenly as the battery could not hold the power,, so I have ordered a new one..
