Best ways to recover partition after quick format?

    Hey all
I really need you help here - the thing is iv accidentally performed a quick format on an WD Green 2TB drive with XP pro installation. what i want is to recover the whole complete partition as it was (1 ntfs partition was on the disk) include names/structure and all.
i dont have a 2TB space to image the disk, so all the recovery tools should be nondestructive, however i do have 2TB free to recovering to.

Just to be clear the disk didnt have an os on it, it wasnt the primary, but a storage

what do you suggest? plz dont hesitate to suggest anything.

^ Definitely follow Kado's advice. We had someone use that here the other day, and it worked flawlessly:

..and here's the alternative, it's what I use personally.
Quick format recovery - Recover data from quick formatted disk

I have the paid version though, I'm not clear on whether it's possible with the free one.

Well with a quick format specifically all you've done is wiped the root of the file table. All the data is still there completely uncorrupted. Rebuilding the file table is a lot of work though.

Partition Wizard should do it for you. I have recovered a quick format in just a few minutes.

    Deleted partition recover help !!!

Hello Guru guys I'm new here and have come to this spot after searching .
My issue is close to the above mention.
What happened was I got a terrible virus that locked my computer so my only option at the time was to install a fresh copy and upgrade I went from win 7 home x64 to ultra x64. As I installed the fresh copy I chose to delete the old partition because of the virus not remembering all the stuff I had on there that I still needed data/doc/pics and so on when I was done everything was in working order and fresh.my second issues was when I bought my new iPhone the SIM card is different so all my contact and everything was lost for the last year because my back up was on my old system. I have been using stellar phoenix data restore pro and it finds the old system with everything on it.
The hard drive is on 250 gb on a acer aspire 5532 I think the old system may have been using around half of the space or even 150 gb tops.
When I go to recover the system it takes very long just to do 1g more like 15 hr just for that which is so time consuming I'm just worried maybe I'm going to fry my hard drive.
I have a 3 TB external hard drive I installed phoenix on and will recover info on that.
please let me know if there's any other way to get the deleted partition back I've also tried using other software but they do not find anything most say no unallocated found don't even no what that means lol but again I would be deeply greatfull if anybody can help also I've done another scan with phoenix its all come up again finds it everytime I'm just holding off before recovering because it looks like it would take a month or 2
THANK YOU in advance for your help
