Hum tootal am not really sure what you are asking here. Is it how to prepare that drive? or are you going to dual boot from it?

Now what I would do tootal is install the new drive into the machine and prepare it using the tutorial

    SSD Alignment

only because I am a little pedantic. I know it says SSD but just do the DISKPART bit up to exit.

Then I would clone the existing drive to the new drive using Macrium Reflect

.Macrium Reflect FREE Edition - Information and download < very handy tool to keep for future use. Just start up the app and it virtually leads you through the cloning process, and you are still left with the original drive for back up:)
