    Questions re W7 backup & restore utility


    I want to backup my PC's data files to an external HD using W7 backup & restore utility.

    If I use the recommended default option that also includes a back mirror of W7 will the PC automatically backup only new data since the backup at the scheduled option chosen??

    Will the backed up files on the backup drive appear as windows file folders (My Pictures, My Documents etc.) or be in an encoded file format?

    Hello Provlima,

    The Windows Backup on a schedule will only create incremental backups of the folders you have included in the backup at the scheduled time and date if changes have been made to the files since the last scheduled backup.

    The system image will be a new full system image each time the schedule runs. If you run out of HDD space, then the oldest system image will automatically be deleted to make room for the new one.
