I still can't find the C:\SystemRoot address in other pcs. I'm now downloading the system update readiness tool file. I'll try it out when I get home.

From same folder to same folder.
But please post what is now in both folders. So post the file twice please

I think the files are the same already!

It's a problem btw with the HASH that is stored somewhere in windows and the HASH of the file. So someone changed the file not the way it should!

Cryptographic hash function - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Maybe the file has been changed by a virus? Maybe the file is fine but the HASH is wrong in windows store?

I can find the hash of the file and the hash windows expects in CBS.LOG. And many people has the same two hashes I found on google. So many people have exact same problem!

File has never changed btw. It's the same when win7 was released.

Reason is unknown. Some people suggest replacing it from another computer (worth to try), but i never saw any success.

For now get a copy of the file from another machine. Run the SURT tool and post the 2 files it has as output
