Just tried YUMI with the unlisted .iso
didn't work.
Seems destined to not happen.
Going to try copying direct from the "Lenovo_Recovery (Q)" partition - putting this into an .iso & see if this works.
If not i really give up. I've tried everything suggested.
The same one as yesterday "Booting...Boot" & it just sits there doing nothing.
I copied the Q drive to the USB stick - didn't work.
Here's the contents of the Lenovo Recovery Partition:
I see the comment about winRE & WinPE. Maybe i'm attempting the WinRE approach & should be doing WinPE. If so, i don't know how i'd do that. I'm copying the files from the recovery DVDs. They work on DVD, so why not USB stick? It's still something bootable inserted into the laptop - should work, surely?
You cant just copy to a USB - there is a process needed for the USB to recognise that it should boot the .ISO
When you wrote the .ISO to the USB using YUMI, where was the .ISO located just before the write? What did YUMI report once the .ISO was written? Please repeat the process and show a screen capture image so I can see the YUMI output.
Ok. Will do that tomorrow as it's time to hit the sack now.
The .iso was on the USB stick before i started YUMI up though if that helps with your question? As for screen caps, i'll sort that out tomorrow.
Putting YUMI aside for the time being because it uses a different boot procedure to what I described. If you follow the very simple USB that I described earlier and described in the YouTube clip then simply copy the contents of a System Repair CD (that you now works) to that USB flash drive then that is as simple as you can get. The USB should boot without any problem.
What size USB flash drive are you using and have you tried a different one?
