I've not tried Recuva, but that requires that an OS can see the disk first, doesn't it?

Hey Guys, I have recently replaced my broken hardrive in my pc and would like to restore my files from my back up on my external hardrive. Sadly a lot of my files are not being restored due to the issue displayed in the image. Please help I a missing lots of important pictures etc. :(

Encountered a problem after restoring backup files
I tried, at first, to restore a single file from my back up drive at D. When I restored it at C, I tried to open it then it said, "Access denied!". I was unable to open the file due to security complications from my own file. T_T My specs are, Acer 4736. Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit OS. Heeeelp!
