Cloning C Drive (Upgrading to Larger Drive)

My C drive currently has 2 GB of free space left. I've tried uninstalling programs and defragmenting the drive but alas it doesn't help. I've ordered a larger SSD and I'm trying to clone my current C drive to an external hard drive.

Could you please recommend some software that would create a bootable clone? I have tried the trial version of Acronis Migrate Easy but it will not show my C drive.

Thank you for your help!

I use Macrium Reflect to do this -- and the free version has this feature.

Image your C drive to the external using say free Macrium Reflect. Then when you have the new SSD just do an image restore to it. I'd only bother cloning (perhaps) if you have the new SSD and are ready to go. Imaging can achieve the same end result as cloning but much more efficiently.

As Asus - P8Z68 V Pro Gen 3 has a uEFI/BIOS firmware.

I would look for a 3rd party Partitioning,Backup & Cloning software, which fully supports Windows 7/8, uEFI, GPT.
You may like to take look Paragon 12.

Cloning WIndows 7 to a larger hard drive...?
Hi all! I've got a question about disc cloning. I've used it before with some Linux installs on my "tinker boxes" which happily took to whatever partition resizing I wanted, but never on my personal, everyday desktop. Currently, I've got two hard drives installed in my machine - an old 80gb IDE...

Cloning Windows 7 on SSD to a larger SSD help needed
Hi, This is my first post, and I'm not very experienced with SSD's. I see tutorials about alignment when cloning from an HDD to an SSD, but haven't found info about SSD to SSD cloning, so I'd appreciate some advice. I originally did a fresh install of Windows 7 onto an SSD, which has...

C: Drive swop drive for larger faster one?
I own a legal Windows 7 Pro 64bit OS. I mistakenly loaded this onto a new 500GB 5400rpm drive thinking that it would be much quieter as I have another four 7500rpm SATA drives running with two of them in RAID 1 for photograph and documents. Of course now i find that the 5400rpm speed is much too...
