Hi and welcome to the Forum.
Just read through the user manual for HP Simple Save. First thing I notice is that by default it saves the backup files to the primary Hard drive on your computer. That to me is a complete waste of time. So for some reason you can't get into your hard drive. How do you restore from the backup files?
Anyway to clear old back ups just go to the folder where they are stored and I'm sure the individual files will show a created date. Just highlight and delete the old ones.
Then IMHO your best plan would be to clear this HP bloatware from your PC and download and install Macrium Reflect. This free software will solve all your back up needs. Ideally back up to an external hard drive.
I remember that it did list all of the backups by date, but now I can't find that screen in the Simple Save and it is almost full. ????
I would seriously consider the advice of Mitchell65. It is almost pointless to save backups on your primary hard drive. The point of backups is in case your hard drive dies ( and they do that more often than most people think) you have a way to restore your files and OS. If your hard drive dies and your backups are on the dead drive, they are of no use to you, as they are on a dead drive.
I don't see how he is correct. Right now the Simple Save has more stored on it than the total of my hard drive.
How many hard drives have you got? Are any External USB HD's? Where is your storage folder? By default, your files are saved to a new folder found at ‘C:\Restore Files.’
1 hard drive, and the only thing in C:\Restored Files is a music library. The HP Simple Save is an external backup device (hard drive), which is what I was asking about in the first place.
But you have two hard drives, not one as you say! As I don't have a crystal ball I cant help you!!!!!!
I don't understand. It was about the HP Simple Save that I posed the question for. I still can't find the list of backups so that I can remove the oldest ones.
