    System Image Backup missing

I have run the "create system image" successfully until today. I have an external HD for that image file. It appears to run, goes through the steps and says it has created the image. But when I go to the external HD and click on the Image file that was created there is nothing there. It shows 0. What could I have done to do this. I even looked for that image file on my C: drive, just in case, but it is not there either.

Is the internal drive split into 2 partitions? How much total space on c and free space on c? By 0 you mean zero bytes, or you dont see anything?

Win7 Backup & Restore creates the system image on:

    • drive:\WindowsImageBackup\xxx\Backup yyy zzz
(drive = HD where you set backup to save the image, xxx = your computer name, yyy = date of backup and zzz
      = a six digit number)

Is this the location where you are looking?

    Kari - Thanks.
Following the information you gave I do find the system image. I first got the 0 bytes infor when I held the cursor on the system image name. I am a bit embarrassed to say when I open that file there is the PC file with all the image files. Taking about 54 GB, if I recall correctly. So I guess I don't have a problem. I did the create system image and the Windows Backup. Are both necessary? I think I need to do more reading before I ask for help. Thanks a lot.

Nice you found it. This thread can maybe give you some ideas of backing up and restoring your system.
