    Backing up hdd in separate machine via acronis nukes system restore?


    Sooo..
    Many of my clients have been bitten by the MBAM snafu last week, so I have a boatload of unbootable pcs here.. . Anyways,

    Booted win7 64 machine with win7 recovery boot disk, showed a restore point available.. Thinking to be on the safe side, I better back up the hdd before running system restore.. Pulled drive, slaved it into another pc *xp* and imaged it with Acronis backup and recovery 10. Didnt boot the drive, didnt change anything on the drive.. Just imaged it.. Now when I put the drive back in the pc and boot it off the win 7 boot disk, there are no restore points to be found.... WTF? I`m guessing I`m not the first one to run into this?
