    Transfering over 1TB of data?

I recently had the opportunity to transfer over a terabyte of data onto a network attached storage device. I used windows explorer to transfer the data.

I found that once all the data was transferred that there was a discrepancy of about 8GB so I started looking through the file system and found that some directories in the source had more files than the same directory in the destination.

I am wondering if there is a more solid way to transfer that much data than using Windows Explorer.

Thanks in advance for any replies...

For serious file transfer I use FastCopy. It gives you more control on what is going on and can verify that stuff was transferred correctly.

Robocopy is a more robust tool that may be better suited for a task such as yours.
I use it when I need something better than the standard Windows Explorer copy, and never had any problems with it.
