Enable system protection to preform system restore

Please help!!! Pics included to explain the situation
Basically after installing some new software for my phone my windows 7 laptop crashed - it flashes a blue screen and restarts on boot up I can get to image 1 page to try a system repair
But then I need to enable system protection.. Image 2
Is there any way I can do this through a command prompt??
    Thank you in advance!!!

Thank you but this tutorial doesn't help as it doesn't show how to enable system protection on boot up - without enabling system protection I cannot do a system restore!

If System Restore was not enabled before the problem, you can not do a System Restore now. There is nothing to Restore.

It was not enabled before so no Restore Points were made. At this time there is nothing to restore. When you get the PC going again you can enable it and from that time Restore Points will be made. A System Restore will not help at this time. == Post the Pics that you were going to post in the first message. Maybe we can help.

Thanks so much - it actually shows two restore points but with each it then says system protection must be enabled for the local disk (C:) drive??
    The pictures won't upload sorry!

    To explain further:
I am given two system restore points to choose from, when I select either and 'next' I am asked to confirm disks to restore. The only option is Local Disk (C: ) (System) - in the status bar it says 'You mist enable System Protection on this drive' the 'next' button is not highlighted.

Hard to tell what you mean without screenshots.

What precisely do you mean by "they won't upload" ?
