cannot increase shadow capacity for System Restore
I have never had success with System Restore in the past, it might have been because I had antivirus enabled before going into one. I think I may be able to trust System Restore once I can learn why I come across its problems.
Today I tried increasing the "shadow storage" for the System Restore, so that I would be able to hold more restore points. I tried setting the dial to 50% (about 150GB), but it wouldn't let me. Instead I was given the error message below. This also happened after dialing it down to 10%. System Restore does not like me ![]() ![]() |

I would run the SFC scannow tutorial to make sure all files that can be fixed are repaired.. Then make a restore pt.. and use Erundt .. free .. for a backup restore pt..

I think I found something, it looks like I have protection On for 2 drives. I have no idea what the OS folder is doing there, or how it got there, or why it says its missing. This is a newly reinstalled system.
