Restoring from Acronis get "Windows not genuine" message

Running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit SP1 with Acronis True Image 2014. Had to do clean re-install of Windows from DVD. Then restored C: system drive from Acronis system image. Everything worked fine until reboot when I got a black screen with message "Build 7601 This copy of Windows is not genuine." Tried everything including trying to run a startup repair from DVD. Could not get beyond black screen.

Did another clean install and system restore. This time I tried a startup repair using DVD. Same result on reboot.

Tried again with clean install and restore. This time after restoring I did In-place Repair Install from DVD. This worked and I was able to enter license info and reregister Windows.

Apparently. either (1) Windows thinks the system restore from Acronis is a counterfit cop of Windows or (2) Acronis is not backing up a file necessary to authenticate Windows.

    Any ideas?
